Welcome to the KC Booksellers Association’s monthly Micro Fiction Competition

Entry is $5, and the winner receives $100, a victory ribbon, and gentle feedback from our panel of judges comprised of writing professionals.

SUBMISSIONS CLOSE ON MONDAY, JUNE 16 at 11:59 PM Central.

This contest is open to writers of all ages living in the KC metro, defined, for these purposes, as being within a 50 mile radius of the city's center. VIEW MAP.

Prompt: A series of letters between two queer writers in the 1950s who’ve never met, then, one day, one of them stops writing.

Must Include:

A quote from a presumed historical queer author
A coded message
A final letter that was never sent

All submissions must be 250 words or less.
